Assembly, Returns & Depreciation

Assembly, Returns & Depreciation

Some furniture items are delivered unassembled. This means the product must be assembled by you. Examples include wardrobes, TV units, sideboards, tables, and other furniture consisting of multiple parts that need to be connected. Simply attaching a seat to a frame on a chair or bar stool is not considered assembly.

Please check carefully how the product should be assembled

Before assembly, we recommend carefully reviewing how the product should be put together. Lay out all parts clearly, check that all components are present, and review how the connections are intended to fit together.

If assembly instructions are missing or unclear, do not start assembling the product. Instead, contact us first. We will request the assembly manual or additional instructions from the supplier.

For products supplied by Risa Home, components are CNC-machined. This means all parts are manufactured with high precision and should fit together correctly. A CNC machine works with millimetre accuracy, so assembly according to the instructions is always possible. Therefore, parts cannot simply “not fit.” If something does not seem to fit immediately, do not force it. Instead, double-check that all parts are positioned correctly.

Do not force parts during assembly

Do not use excessive force when assembling the product. Screws, panels, dowels, and connectors must be installed correctly. Damage may occur if parts are assembled incorrectly, tightened improperly, or forced into place.

Damage resulting from incorrect assembly, improper use of tools, overtightening, or forcing parts is not covered by warranty.

Returning a product after unpacking or assembly

You may unpack and inspect a product. You may also assemble a product to determine whether it meets your expectations. However, if you return the product, it must still be in a neat, complete, and resalable condition.

To qualify for a full refund, the product must be resalable as new. In line with the terms used by major furniture retailers, this means that:

  • the product is complete;
  • no parts, screws, or accessories are missing;
  • the product is clean and undamaged;
  • no assembly-related damage is visible;
  • no signs of use are visible;
  • the original packaging is present where reasonably possible.

Depreciation in case of return

If a returned product can no longer be sold as new, a deduction for depreciation may be applied. This may include visible assembly marks, signs of use, damaged edges, scratches, damaged screw holes, missing parts, or a product that can no longer be properly repackaged.

In such cases, the depreciation charge may be up to 50% of the purchase price. We recommend taking care during assembly to avoid this situation.

No return accepted for assembly damage

If a product is damaged during or as a result of assembly, we cannot accept it as a standard return. This also applies where parts have been assembled incorrectly, overtightened, forced into place, broken, or otherwise damaged due to improper assembly.

If you have any doubts during assembly, stop immediately and contact us. This helps prevent unnecessary damage and allows us to work with you to find the right solution.
