Assembly, Returns & Depreciation

Assembly, Returns & Depreciation

Some furniture is delivered unassembled. This means that the product must be assembled by you. Examples include wardrobes, TV units, sideboards, tables, and other furniture consisting of multiple parts that need to be connected.

Attaching a seat to the frame of a dining chair or bar stool, for example, is not considered assembly within the meaning of this policy.

Please Check the Assembly Instructions Before You Begin

Before assembling your product, we recommend taking the time to carefully review how it should be assembled.

Lay out all parts in an organised manner, check that all components are present, and carefully examine how the parts are intended to fit together.

If the assembly instructions are missing or unclear, please do not start assembling the product. Instead, contact us first. We can request additional assembly instructions or a manual from the supplier.

For products supplied by Risa Home, the components are CNC-machined. This means they are manufactured with a high degree of precision and are designed to fit together exactly as described in the assembly instructions. If a part does not appear to fit immediately, do not force it into place. First, check whether all components have been positioned correctly. If you are unsure, please contact us before proceeding.

Do Not Force Parts During Assembly

Do not use excessive force during assembly. Screws, panels, dowels, and connectors should all be installed and tightened correctly.

Incorrect alignment, overtightening, or forcing components together may cause damage to the product.

Damage caused by incorrect assembly, improper use of tools, overtightening of fasteners, or forcing components together is not covered under warranty.

Returning a Product After Unpacking or Assembly

You are entitled to unpack and inspect your product. If necessary, you may also assemble the product to determine whether it meets your expectations.

However, if you decide to return the product, it must still be in a clean, complete, and resaleable condition.

To qualify for a full refund, the product must be capable of being sold as new. This means, among other things, that:

  • The product is complete.
  • No parts, screws, or accessories are missing.
  • The product is clean and undamaged.
  • There is no damage caused during assembly.
  • The product shows no signs of use.
  • The original packaging is available, where reasonably possible.

Depreciation for Returned Products

If a returned product can no longer be sold as new, we may apply a deduction for loss of value.

This may apply in cases such as:

  • Visible assembly or signs of use.
  • Damaged edges or surfaces.
  • Scratches or dents.
  • Damaged screw holes.
  • Missing parts or fastening materials.
  • Damaged or missing packaging.
  • Products that can no longer be safely or neatly repackaged.

Depending on the condition in which the product is returned, the deduction may be up to 50% of the original purchase price.

We therefore recommend handling both the product and its packaging with care if you are still unsure whether you wish to keep the item.

Damage Caused During Assembly

If damage occurs during assembly due to incorrect assembly, forcing components together, improper use of tools, or any actions that do not comply with the assembly instructions, this may result in a deduction for loss of value or rejection of your return request.

If you are unsure during assembly, or if a component does not appear to fit correctly, please stop assembling the product and contact us. We will be happy to help determine the correct solution and prevent unnecessary damage.
