The current trend is undisputedly the industrial interior style. In this blog post we zoom in on the industrial dining room table. Which dimensions suit you? How can you combine an industrial table with other styles/products? You will have answers to these questions after reading the blog. Let's go!
The perfect size
Do you already know how high your table should be? A normal height of a dining room table is around 76 to 77 centimeters. Standard tables have this size. Would you like to have a table made to measure? Then ask about this! Also take the thickness of the top into account, because the chairs still have to be underneath! Do you have a leaf that is 10 centimeters thick? Then you will have to take this into account when purchasing chairs with armrests.
Tip from Dimehouse #1: measure the height of the armrests of your dining room chairs before purchasing a table. This way you won't be faced with any surprises when your table is delivered :-).
The length and width of the table depends on the space, the number of chairs that come with the table, and your own wishes. Do you have a lot of space lengthwise? Then a long table might be something for you. View here all dining tables from Dimehouse!
Tip from Dimehouse #2: Measure carefully how much space there is between the table legs! With a table top of, for example, 200 cm with legs on the side, you can probably fit 6 chairs. If the legs are more inward, this may not work!
Tip from Dimehouse #3: Do you have little space around the table? Then consider carefully whether you want chairs with armrests! It's easier to get out of a chair without a backrest. Especially if you are sitting with three people in a row, it is useful that you can slide the chair far enough back! View here our chairs without armrests!
Round tables
The round dining room table is making its comeback. A round table is not only beautiful, but above all very cozy! Everyone sitting around the table can be looked at. Hang a nice one there lamp upstairs, and you are guaranteed pleasant evenings! A round table stands alone in the room and, depending on the hanging lamp, creates a spacious feeling. The table can also be placed well in small spaces. Please take the size into account.
Tip from Dimehouse #4: Don't just try to put the number of chairs around a table. Also consider whether you want to eat on it, including plates, cutlery and pans. Will there still fit that many people at the table?
Benefits
- Suitable for a small space.
- You can look at each other because you are sitting around the table.
Disadvantages
- Cannot be placed against the wall.
Oval tables
Almost the same applies to an oval table as to a round table when it comes to conviviality. Here too you can get a good look at everyone. The table is also placed freely in the room. Chairs can easily be added to the blunted corners to create more places.
Benefits
- Can play with the amount of chairs.
- You can look at each other because of the oval shape.
- No sharp corners and therefore safe(er) with children!
Disadvantages
- Cannot be placed against a wall.
Square tables
Everyone sits at the same distance from each other at a square table. This will make for good conversations! A square table is also very suitable for a small space. With a square table, adding extra chairs is a little more difficult. The table legs often get in the way.
Benefits
- Suitable for a small space
- Equal distance between everyone
- Can be placed against the wall
Disadvantages
- You are limited to the number of seats. Due to the straight sections you cannot add more chairs.
Rectangular tables
The best selling table! And for good reason. You can go in any direction. Against the wall? No problem! Loose in the room? Not even! You decide. You just have to choose the right size for your room.
Benefits
- Multiple people can join.
- Can be placed against the wall.
Disadvantages
- We'll think about this some more.
Tip from Dimehouse #5: Don't know how big the table should be? Try sticking it out with masking tape! You will soon see whether that 300 cm table suits you or not :-).
Which chair fits best at my table?
All kinds of chairs can be placed near an industrial table. This includes wooden, metal or leather chairs. To create a complete picture of your industrial table, it is nice to also add industrial chairs. Industrial chairs are characterized by the use of sturdy materials and an unfinished appearance. A metal frame is often used, which has been sanded or sprayed black. The upholstery usually consists of a leather seat in calm and natural colors. But chairs made entirely of metal or wood or a combination of all different chairs can also look very nice with an industrial table. This is of course completely up to you!
